Electoral College and Presidential Data Collection

 
We've collected here information about past US Presidential Elections.
The Electoral College Map shows the red and blue states for each presidential election 1984 to 2004.

Use buttons on the page to select the election year and to experiment with the point spread in that election.   If the spread is 1, then the page shows all states to be red or blue.   Raise the spread and some states turn less red or less blue; some states turn yellow.   Recent elections have been close.

The Electoral College Chart shows popular vote portion for each state for each presidential election 1984 to 2004.

Learn that some states are solid for one or the other party.   Minnesota and DC have voted for the Democratic party in every one of these years.   A considerable number of states have voted for one or the other party in all but one of the years.
